No 9, The Glades is a spacious, light and airy 3-storey town house in a secure complex close to the sea front in the picturesque town of Hout Bay, just 20 minutes from Cape Town. The house offers guests:
  • 4 bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 twin, 1 single)
    sleeping 7 people plus cot

The accommodation comprises entrance hall, open plan living and dining area and kitchen on the top floor; master bedroom (en suite), two further bedrooms and a bathroom on the middle floor and single bedroom on the lower floor. The living and kitchen areas each have balconies. The balcony at the front, off the living/dining area, having sea views across the bay. 

The living/dining area has a tiled floor with rugs. Three two-seater settees and an armchair are arranged  around a coffee table, a DSTv service with international TV (satellite), DVD player and  separate Hi-Fi system. The house is tastefully decorated and furnished with original artwork and prints. The dining area has a large circular table with 8 dining chairs.. 

The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob and extractor hood; microwave oven; coffee percolator; sandwich maker; dishwasher, washing machine; dryer; and large fridge/freezer.  It also gives access to a balcony overlooking the rear garden.

The master bedroom contains a king-sized double bed; extensive built-in wardrobes; bedside cupboards and lamps; dressing table; coffee table and two easy chairs. There is a large en-suite bathroom with bath, separate walk-in shower, washbasin and WC. The master bedroom and twin-bedded rooms have access to the patio and garden.

The swimmimg pool, within the complex, is attractive and shaded by trees. The pool area is fenced (to stop children getting in unsupervised) and there is a toddlers paddling pool as well as a full depth pool alongside.  The surrounding area is grassed and excellent for sunbathing. There is a also a sheltered seating area.

Hout Bay is quite compact and most facilities are reached in a very short time from the secure Sea Glade complex either by car or on foot. Hout Bay Beach is a 5 minute walk from the house and an even shorter car ride.

A few strides further will take you to the harbour, where boats take tourists around the coast and to Seal Island. Whales can sometimes be seen in Hout Bay between September and February. Lots of restaurants and shops are available in the town. Mariner's Wharf Restaurant sits between the beach and the harbour. It is an excellent seafood restaurant with inside and outside dining; on the ground floor is a seafood market selling all types of fresh and frozen fish and shellfish.
