St Anthony's Cottage, Langton Herring
Nr. Weymouth, Dorset
St Anthony's CottageSitting roomMaster bedroomGround floor bedroomKitchen/dinerBathroomRear garden
St Anthony’s Cottage is nextdoor to Bakehouse Cottage and within 50 metres of Higher Farm Cottage fronting onto Shop Lane. There is a garden at the rear looking across an open field. The cottage is a very old, traditional Dorset cottage and is on 3 levels with narrow, steep staircases making it unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility.

St Anthony's is a very comfortable, well appointed and cosy cottage offering:
  • 3 double bedrooms sleeping 6 (plus cot under 2 yrs)
  • Inglenook fireplace with woodburner
  • Modern kitchen with split level dining area
  • Pretty rear garden running to field
  • Original paintings by local artists
  • A 2-minute walk to The Elm Tree Inn
  • A Broadband service (at a small extra cost)
On the ground floor is a good-sized sitting room with fitted carpet, inglenook fireplace (with wood burning stove) and Freeview TV with VCR/DVD/CD player.

The kitchen provides a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The rear entrance to the kitchen is via a back hall, off which are a laundry (washer and dryer) and a shower room (shower, WC and washbasin). The sitting room connects with a split-level dining room and kitchen. From the sitting room there is access to an inner hall with staircase and a ground floor double bedroom.

On the first floor is a large double bedroom with a king size bed (with a cot) and a second, smaller double bedroom.  Each bedroom is carpeted, with built-in wardrobes and chests of drawers. The second floor provides a bathroom with combined bath/shower, WC and, on a clear day, a view of the sea!

To the rear there is a paved patio area and garden. The garden abuts one of Higher Farm's fields. Teak benches, a table and a barbecue are all provided. Garage parking is available with additional parking by the farm entrance. The cottage is a stones throw, literally, from the church and the local village pub (serves food).

The property is available throughout the year - the area around Langton Herring village being particularly popular with walkers. Within a half-mile walk lie the Fleet, Chesil Beach and the Southwest Coastal Path. Weymouth, Dorchester, Abbotsbury and Bridport are all only a short drive away. Further afield are Corfe Castle, Poole, Blandford Forum, Lyme Regis and Bournemouth. For further details please visit our Things to do in Dorset page.
