Restricted mobility

Please note that a number of our properties are old/traditional buildings and, whilst comfortable and well maintained, they may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. In particular, we would highlight the following:

-
Villa Pietra Serena is a traditional, Tuscan two-storey property, with an additional mezzanine floor in the "tower" above bedroom 4, accessed by an open-tread staircase; the villa has bedrooms and bathrooms on both the ground and first floors.
-
The Corn Mill is very old and, as such, not built to modern standards; be aware that there are some uneven floors, low ceilings/doorways and the like. It may not be suitable, therefore, for those with limited mobility.
-
The Corn Loft is a conversion of an old water mill; as a consequence, be aware that there is some uneven ground approaching the front door from the lane, which is also on a hill; as such, it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. There is some restriction to head height in some areas of the bedroom, due to sloping ceilings.

Potential hazards

In addition to the potential issues highlighted above under ‘Restricted mobility’, we would highlight the following potential hazards:

-
Villa Pietra Serena and the Welsh properties (the Corn Mill, Mill Lodge and the Corn Loft) have water on site, in Italy in the form of the heated swimming pool, and in Wales in the form of the leat (mill stream) and River Solva, both of which run through the garden. Whilst some fencing is in place, children should be supervised at all times.
-
Wans Barton is a conversion of an original farm building. Whilst set within its own grounds and gardens, the property is surrounded by farm land on an active farm. A driven game shoot operates on the farm during the autumn/winter. Guests should not access farm land and only use public footpaths within the local area.
